![]() Simon Willox - Director of DigitalA design graduate (OND, HNC, HND, ISP Dip) with over 14 years professional experience in design for print, new media and web, in agency environments ranging from pure design agencies, to worldwide below the line and advertising groups. Simon has a strong background in traditional design for print, web and new media design as well as extensive experience in other areas such as animation and motion graphics. In his early career Simon cut his teeth in McCann-Erickson, Edmonds Advertising and Tayburn McIllroy Coates, where he worked on prestigious accounts with United Distillers, Highland Distilleries, Scottish & Newcastle, Scottish Power and Shimano, amongst others. In 1997, Simon moved to KLP Euro RSCG (part of the wordwide Havas advertising group) as Senior Designer, and latterly Head of Interactive Design. Simon’s primary role at KLP involved designing and managing diverse communication items in both traditional and new media for various blue chip clients including Guinness, Smirnoff, Kimberly Clark, Pepsi, Yahoo!, British Airways, The Guardian, Orange and Abbey National. In 2004, Simon moved to Laveron in Glasgow as Senior Designer where he worked on brand development and management, web, motion and new media projects, corporate guidelines, and packaging for clients such as the Kingfisher Group, B&Q, Pfeiser, National Museums of Scotland, Rocket Fuel Vodka. In 2006, Simon was headhunted by Moriarti to strengthen their creative team. His vast cross-sector and multi-disciplinary experience makes his strategy and design contribution to all projects invaluable. A short sabbatical in 2008 resulted in Simon working for WeeWorld as Senior Lead Designer, responsible for user interface and user experience design, working with worldwide partners like AOL, MSN and Skype. WeeMees are the fastest growing online identity experience in the world. So far more than 11 million WeeMees have been created globally, and a new one is created every few seconds! Simon returned to Moriarti in early 2009 as Director of Digital, principally responsible for spearheading Moriarti's digital offering, but also with an involvement in Moriarti's core design expertise. In his spare time, he enjoys shouting on Fernando Alonso, listening to anything from Boards of Canada to Sinatra, a cheeky wee Rioja and a good hot curry, and taking Harry out for treks in the woods. He also tumbles and tweets, usually about F1, Rioja or curry. |
